World of insects
An exhibition showcasing scientifically accurate insect models at 15:1 scale
About the project
Our team contributed to the creation of a unique exhibition dedicated to the fascinating world of insects. The project combines advanced technology with handcrafted artistry and reflects years of experience in 3D modeling, digital scanning and museum-quality exhibit production.

The exhibition features 10 large-scale insect models
Each model is based on CT scans of real entomological specimens. By combining advanced technology with skilled craftsmanship, we were able to preserve scientific accuracy while reproducing the intricate anatomical details of each species.

We wanted to showcase not only the insect models themselves, but also the world they inhabit. Each model is displayed within a carefully recreated natural habitat.

The process of creation
Insect scanning
Before model production begins, each specimen undergoes high-resolution scientific scanning. Micro-CT imaging is used to create an exact digital replica of the insect, preserving even the smallest structural details with exceptional accuracy.

3D modeling
Using the scan data, we create a detailed 3D model of the future exhibit. Our specialists reconstruct missing features, refine the geometry, and prepare the model for significant scaling. This ensures scientific accuracy and allows even the most complex anatomical structures to be reproduced with exceptional fidelity.

Making a model
While modern technology plays a crucial role in the process, each exhibit ultimately relies on extensive handcrafting. Our artists carefully assemble every model, recreate authentic coloration, refine surface textures, and add the smallest details by hand. This meticulous work is what brings a digital model to life as a highly realistic museum exhibit.
