Double Arches Park Model
About the project
A landscape model of Arches National Park. The model measures 2.45 by 1.5 meters, with a scale of 1:87.
It is modular and consists of three parts. Our task was to showcase the famous natural sandstone formations in the desert of Utah—this is the very place where the movie Indiana Jones was filmed.
The park is situated on a vast salt bed left behind by an ancient sea. Sedimentary rock layers lie atop this salt, compressed into formations over time. To recreate all of this, our team spent five months. Each rock and arch was carved by hand without the use of 3D printing, milling, or lasers.
